Bewdley Passion Play returns

The Bewdley Passion Play will take place in the Jubilee Gardens on Good Friday, (April 19), starting at 2pm. Music Director Jim Ineson and Stage Director Steve Conway have collaborated once again. In order to create a reproduction of the most important event in the Christian calendar.

Stage Director Steve Conway said: “As the past couple of Bewdley Passion events were music-based. So we decided this year to return to our roots. We’ll  concentrate on the spoken word but adding a modern twist.”

The story will be based around a Television Newsroom,. Lizzie Lane, from BBC Hereford and Worcester, will join our cast as a Jerusalem-based roving reporter. Lizzie has worked very closely with previous Bewdley Passion productions and I am delighted that she has agreed to take a role.

“I am also very pleased that local actor Stuart Wishart will once again bring his brilliant portrayal of Christ to the production.”

Continuing the modern theme, the play will screen news reports from around Jerusalem on large monitors. The audience can also view the action on their mobile phones or tablets via wifi.
