Last year the Dundee Passion Play was held in the Dundee University Botanic Gardens. The year before saw the very successful first performance of this play to an audience of around 250-300 people. The organisers hope that, with increased publicity, even more people will come along this year. It’s the story of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ, told through a creative blend of dramatic scenes and musical accompaniment by a choir and small orchestra. There is a varied programme of music, ranging from Taize chants to contemporary sacred pieces to extracts from Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus, and O Vos Omnes by Tomas Luis de Victoria.
