Hamilton Passion Play 2022 – Friday 15th April, 2pm

The Easter story comes to life during the Hamilton Passion Play!

The opportunity to see the events of the final week of Jesus’ life portrayed through drama is an experience not to be missed.  One which can shed new light on familiar stories, deepening our understanding and emotional engagement.

The Hamilton Passion Play took place on Friday 15th April 2022 at 2pm in Castle Street, Hamilton, lasting one hour.

Drama Kirk is a Fresh Expression of Church, which brings the gospel to life through drama. Seeing things portrayed and being a part of a dramatisation of scripture takes us a stage beyond bible readings. It deepens our understanding and heightens our emotional journey.  The company is led by husband and wife team Ross and Liz Blackman. Ross is now a parish minister but was previously a time-served joiner. And so he manages the technical aspects of productions. Liz is a professional actor turned minister’s wife – she produces and directs the plays.

We draw the majority of our wonderful community company from our local churches, with cast members ranging in age from 3 to 83. Some come with a great deal of experience of drama, others with none – all come willing to take the gospel message into the heart of their local community.  Drama Kirk is looking forward to the opportunity to work with the experienced team at Wintershall to improve the quality of what they produce and welcome learning from the experts. The same play, performed at the same time throughout the country? That will indeed be One Good Friday!
