The Passion of Jesus is coming to Worcester – free of charge for everyone.

In partnership with Wintershall, the Worcester Passion Play is a 90 minute performance about the Passion of Jesus. The play of this historic event will be performed at Cathedral Plaza. It is staged with the kind permission of the Mayor and the High Sheriff of Worcestershire.

This is a 3-minute overview of the 90-minute production from which you can see the quality, attention to detail and history accuracy.

Hollywood producer Huw Jones will recreate this on Cathedral Plaza. He produced the 2004 hit, the Passion of Christ starring Mel Gibson. Huw is supported by Chris Jaeger. He is very well known for all the brilliant work he does at the Swan Theatre and Worcester festivals.

We are expecting parishes from across the diocese of Worcestershire will be gathering at various points across the city to converge on foot in period dress. Meanwhile players of Worcester Rugby and Cricket Clubs will make up the Roman guard.  Actors and actresses from across the county will be joining forces to make the Worcester Passion Play a truly professional and memorable production.
